Lady Cathcart House is the perfect
location to step back in time to the 15th
century and stay in the oldest inhabited building
in the county town of Ayr. The house was
preserved, restored and converted by Historic Scotland in
1995 and as a listed building demonstrates the craftsmanship
of 15th century masons and 18th century plasterers with their
work visible to this day.
Accessed by the historic turnpike spiral staircase, the
apartments is spread over two floors and provides a unique
opportunity to experience a piece of Scottish architectural
history.
Conveniently situated above the tourist information
office in the lively heart of Auld Ayr, with
a wide choice of restaurants, shops, theatre, cinema and leisure
facilities on the doorstep, Lady Cathcart House
is a 5 minute stroll to the glorious sandy beach and a 20
minute drive to Culzean Castle and Country Park,
the Burns Heritage Trail, the beautiful coast
and three of Scotland's finest championship golf courses at
Royal Troon, Prestwick and
Turnberry.
Lounge Dining Room
Furnished in the medieval style with rugs on wooden floors,
leather suites and carved oak furniture this room provides
all the comforts of the modern day.
Bedroom 1
Large double bedroom offering a king-size bed, wardrobe and
a chest of drawers giving ample storage.
Bedroom 2
Twin bedded room with wardrobe, chest of drawers, ornamental
fireplace and feature windows on three sides.
Kitchen
The kitchen is well equipped with electric cooker, fridge,
microwave, toaster, kettle, china, glassware and napkins for
four guests.
Bathroom
Bathroom with bath and shower, basin, toilet and a selection
of toiletries.
Exterior
Car parking is available with a mix of free and voucher parking
in neighbouring streets.
Additional information
All gas and electricity costs are included in the rental.
Linen and towels are provided and are changed weekly for rentals
of 1 week or more.
For Holiday Lets telephone calls are charged at cost and an
honesty box is provided.
A complimentary welcome pack, which includes, tea, coffee,
milk and bread will be waiting on your arrival.
